Yummy yummy!

Ok, let's get one thing straight.  I love my kids, and I want the best for them.  What (sane) mother doesn't?  So that means, what I think is good for my kids, is my decision, and no one can make me feel like a crummy mom for doing things MY way.  Now, I would love to tell you that I have always felt this confident.  But alas, I have not.  I have let people trample over me for 1. Having c-sections (one planned, Heaven forbid!) 2. Feeding my kid formula (oh my, that is awful!) 3. Using disposable diapers (cloth is so much better!).  Well, pardon me, but if you want to raise your kids that way, then awesome for you!  Kudos!  But that was not MY decision for my family.  I am now getting more confident in my decisions, and I feel great about it!  This may be stepping on toes, and that wasn't the intent, but I needed something to write about!  Hahaha...

Now, the main thing about this post is to tell about the cool thing I do for my kids that is super easy, and healthy!  I make their baby food!  It is (surprisingly) fun, easy, and I can honestly say that I would eat it (except the texture kinda gets me, lol)...I was brave.  I tasted my kids food before I gave it to them.  And BLEH!  Nastiness!  So I researched it a little and discovered that making my kids food myself was WAY easier than I thought!   Here's the scoop.  Find whatever food you want your baby to eat first (Here is a chart as to what to give first) and then cook it (example: sweet potatoes, I bake them), pop it in a blender with a little water, and then voila!, it's done!   Now, so you don't have to do it every day or whatever, here's a trick I learned--freeze them in ice cube trays!  Once they are frozen, you can pop them out and put them in a plastic bag and store in the freezer!  Sooo easy!  And tastes good too!  Wholesome Homemade Baby Food is a great website to refer to...

So all this to say, I may not be the all-natural supermom that some of my friends think all moms should be, but I do what I think is best for my kids, and that's all that matters!  Don't dis a mom who doesn't do things the way you think they should be done.  Instead, look at what YOU are doing with YOUR kids, and know that it is what is right for you!

My Crazy, Amazing Life

Ok, this is a hodgepodge post!  I have been literally running around like a chicken with my head cut off the past few days (weeks, months, years?!?)  Between making sure Brianna has what toy/show-and-tell/swimsuit she needs on what day she needs it, to getting the mounds of clothes ready for the consignment sale to making sure my family eats (and has clean clothes!), I have been one busy momma!  Yes, I get stressed (alot), but I seriously love my life!

Let's see, where to start...my kids are...fun.  Yeah, we will use the word fun.  My dearest Carter ADORES his big sister, and she ADORES him right back!  They have me on my toes pretty much from the moment they wake up to the moment their sweet little bodies fall in bed asleep.  For example, this afternoon my dear hubby told our sweet girl that she could play with a sheet of stickers...no problem, right?  I was innocently reading my book, when I looked over and saw my adorable little boy covered in neon stickers.  He was staring at them, probably wondering what in the world his AMAZING big sister was doing to him!

Yes, so it is consignment season again...I think the trend is to do every other sale.  There is this amazing sale in my town 4 times a year.  The Lullabies and Mudpies consignment sale is awesome.  The people are awesome too!  I can get all my kids clothes at the right seasons, at great prices!  Well, this is my 3rd time consigning, and this is the most I have done.  My house is a wreck, with piles of clothes all over, ha ha!  But the end is in sight!

Well, this was longer than I planned, and I have so much more to tell, but alas, it is late and I have to get the house ready for the bug guy to come tomorrow!  Such is my life!

Vacation!

Wow, has life been hectic!  Between my poor baby being sick so much (still fighting, pray for us), and vacation, and work, and having a 2 year old, I have not posted in a LONG time.

We just got back from vacation in the beautiful Tennessee mountains. It was sooo beautiful, and a very nice change in weather from the scorching heat here in Florida!  We stayed in a cabin with Caleb's family for 4 days.  That's 8 adults and 5 kids ages 4 and under all in the same house.  Whew!

The kiddos loved having their Mamaw read to them!   Joshua, Brianna and Hali spent alot of time in Mamaw's lap! They pretty  much got along the whole time (surprising for a 2 and 4 year old!)

And Carter and Kian had staring contests the whole time.  They were so funny! They would sit there and smile and laugh at each other...too cute! Kian in 6 months old, and Carter is 4 months, so they are really close in age.

Friday, we took the kids to the Wonder Works Science Museum (the upside down house).  They loved it!

Between seeing how fast you can throw a baseball, to touching ice cold water that was the same temperature as the waters were when the Titanic sank, to putting them in bubbles, the kids had a blast (so did the mommies and the daddies!)

Carter couldn't do much, so he just chilled in his cool Cars stroller.

I love my kids!  They are the cutest things ever.  Brianna loves her baby brother so very much...I hope it lasts when they are grown!  They had a great time, and were very well behaved (surprisingly) for being out of their comfort zones!  But I am VERY glad to be home, to my peaceful, quiet (after this week I can say this!) home.
