Recap

It hit me today, that it has been a VERY long time since I have posted!  Sooo much has been going on, I am just tired THINKING about it.  Let's see, where to start.
Oh!  My parent's and I started an online crafting boutique...pretty spiffy, if you ask me.  It's called Emerald Coast Boutique.  We have baby gifts, craft items, and jewelry.  So yeah, I have been making ALOT of jewelry lately. We are really praying it takes off.  It is alot of hard work, but I know that one day it will be great.  It's so much fun working with my parents, talking about our ideas, and actually seeing them happen!  Here are just a sample from each category.

In addition to the craft shop, I have been trying to baby-proof the house again.  Little man is starting to crawl (aaahh), and he is even more curious than Sissy, so here we go...he has 3 teeth now, and is into whatever he can get his hands on!  Big Sis is learning more and more at school each day.  She knows quite a few Bible verses, and her favorite thing in the world right now is KP Jr., the preschool music program at our church.  We have a little singer on our hands!  There is nothing like hearing your 2 (almost 3!) year old sing praises to Jesus.  She is getting so big, we had to buy her size 9 shoes this weekend!  What 3 year old wears a size 9!?!  She definitely got whatever genes Uncle Micah and Aunt Charis got, because she sure didn't get them from me!

Last week was my birthday...sheesh, I'm getting old.  I'm not afraid to say my age, so yeah, I'm 27 now...sigh...and I'm feeling it too, lol.  For my birthday, Caleb surprised me and took me to Atlanta for the weekend!  Two baseball games, and just the two of us...we slept until 8 on Sunday morning  8!!!  That is unheard of!!!!  He is an awesome hubby...he even packed me a bag, and the only thing he "forgot" was allergy meds...and how was he supposed to know I would need them?  He is an amazing guy, and I love him so much!

I think that wraps it up for the time being...Right now, I am waiting for him to get home from bowling league...yeah, he's kind of a nerd...

NIGHT!

Peace

The past few days, we have had some serious weather.  Two nights in a row, we have been woken up by really loud thunder.  I mean, like house shaking loud thunder.  Ahh, the joys of hurricane season.  As Lee came through our area, we got a ton of much-needed rain, not-so-needed wind, and really loud thunder.  Last night, it seemed like it was louder than normal.  There is nothing like being woken up from a peaceful dream by a loud boom...ahh, hurricane season.

Last night, my dear sweet children lay in their beads, peacefully sleeping, when BOOM...the loudest thunder I think I have ever heard shook our house.  We listened for cries from down the hall, and sure enough, my sweet baby girl was scared.  My son, on the other hand, could probably sleep through anything. Not a peep.  So I go to her room, and she is sitting up in bed, saying she had to potty.  She was shaking so hard, however, that she could not go...poor thing.  So I did what any loving mommy would do...I tucked her in to bed between Caleb and I.  The instant her head touched the pillow, she was out again.  There is nothing like the safe, secure arms of mommy and daddy.  Even though the thunder was booming all around us, she was safe, so she slept.

So at 1:30 in the morning, I was holding my sleeping child, listening to the storm all around us, and the thought came to my mind of how many times I have cried out to my Father, and I too, feel the safeness and security of His arms, wrapping around me.  How many times though, do we hear the storms of life around us, and think, Oh I can handle this myself...and forget that the Father's arms are right there, waiting for us to run to them.  Don't forget, the next time a storm comes, that the Father is right there, waiting to hold you and bring you peace.
