Tux the Penguin

We have a new friend at our house...Tux the Penguin.  He is Carter's new friend, to be more specific.  I finally got an appointment with the pediatrician today, and they are trying to see if they can get the congestion in his chest under control by using breathing treatments.  So far it has worked!  I was a little concerned when the doctor said he might not be getting enough air, because his color wasn't that great and his lips were blue!  But after one treatment, she said he looked much better!  Whew!  Thank the Lord we got this caught early!  Please keep our little man in your prayers that this takes care of it and it doesn't turn into something worse!

Jehovah My Protector

It's amazing how God has His hand on us, when we don't even realize it!  I mean, we all know He has Hand on us all the time, but do we really realize it every day?  I know I don't!  Sometimes I think we take it for granted, sad as that thought is.

Just yesterday, I was out shopping with my mom and sister, and got in my car and drove home.  Not 3 hours later, my husband and I took our little brood out to the car to take Carter to a walk-in clinic.  The rain started to sprinkle down on us as we loaded them up.  Of course, being in Florida, it was a billion degrees out, so I reached in to start the "wind" going (the air conditioner, as Bri calls it).  Nothing.  The battery was dead.  My heart pounded in my chest as I thought of how I could have been stranded somewhere in Pensacola with two small children in the sweltering Florida heat.  Wow God!  Seriously, that may not sound like a huge deal to you, but to me, it was huge!  Thankfully, it was quickly taken care of this morning by my amazing husband.  Thank you God, for being my Provider and Protector!

WE HAVE OVERCOME!!!

This morning in church, we sang the song We Have Overcome.  Wow.  The song comes from the verse in Revelation that says "And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death."  I understand the context of this verse, but I truly believe that God gives us verses that we can apply to ourselves and our own situations.  Goodness, how the words hit me today!  I was standing there, singing my heart out, when it hit me...God took something in my life that could have brought me down and destroyed me, and gave me the strength to overcome the pain and hurt from the situation.  He gave me the strength to keep my eyes on Him, to rise above the tragedy in my life.  He allowed me to experience great pain, so that I could have something in my life to point to and say "God did this--HE was my strength.  HE lifted me up and helped me overcome this hard time.  And HE can do the same for you."  How amazing is it to have that!  There were days when I did not think that I could go on, but just when I was ready to give in to the anger and frustration, HE was there for me!  How amazing is that!

Seated above, enthroned in the Father's love
Destined to die, poured out for all mankind
God's only son perfect and spotless one
He never sinned, but suffered as if He did
All authority, every victory is Yours
All authority, every victory is Yours
Savior, worthy of honor and glory, worthy of all our praise,
For You overcame
Jesus, awesome in power forever,
Awesome and great is Your name,
For You overcame!
Power in hand speaking the Father's plan
You're sending us out, light in this broken land
All authority, every victo-ry is Yours
All authority, every victory is Yours
Savior, worthy of honor and glory, worthy of all our praise,
For You overcame!
We will overcome by the blood of the Lamb
And the word of our testimony, everyone overcome
